Covid-19 Arrangements: 17 March

Guidance has been sought from both Tennis Wales and the LTA, and the committee has considered and agreed the following actions:

  • All group coaching activities are suspended until further notice

  • All club group activities and social mix in sessions are suspended until further notice

  • All match or team activities are suspended until further notice

  • Access to the club house is not recommended and to be considered only where essential (additional cleaning requested)

Individuals, if choosing to play, may currently do so, but are asked to act responsibly and must maintain rigorous social distancing and adhere to additional hygiene measures such as the use of hand sanitisers.

Given the changing times we may yet have to close the club completely but are currently following advice as guided by the LTA who are in close communication with central Government on LTA-registered venue activities.

Separate advice on the Wimbledon ticket draw will follow, as will an update on the AGM plans.

Covid-19 Arrangements: 21 March

In response to the updates from central government yesterday (20th March), and in line with the LTAs updated advice to registered venues, ATC are required to close the clubhouse facilities until further notice.

Closing the clubhouse to members will also mean no floodlight play until further notice.  Please note that the door code will be temporarily changed to maintain everyone’s safety. This measure is in addition to the other recommend measures for social distancing and hygiene, advised to members previously, if choosing to play.

As before, we will continue to monitor and advise on any further updates as they occur.

Also, due to the current situation, the AGM is now postponed until later in the year.  A revised date will be advised in due course.

With regard to membership payments for this year, we propose to continue with the current arrangements and rates for now, as many have already taken up the early bird offer.  We will review and consider options to compensate members, once the full impacts are understood. Any members concerned about their ability to pay this year’s subs due to current events, are asked to drop a line to Bill at billynomad@hotmail.com and individual circumstances will be reviewed in confidence.

An update on the Wimbledon ballot will also follow.

Kind regards and keep well.

Bill (Chair)
